HopeKids and Slammers Baseball Trevor Kling Memorial Bowling Tournament

HopeKids and Slammers Baseball is partnering up to put on a HopeKids Of Colorado event. The event is the Trevor Kling Memorial Bowling Tournament.

Trevor had a passion for playing baseball and bowling since he was a little tyke. He talked about being a pro baseball player when he grew up. Even through his cancer diagnosis, he stuck with baseball and bowling!!

Trevor was diagnosed with brain cancer in July, 2015. He underwent 2 brain surgeries and had a medical port placed in his chest to receive Chemo treatment. Despite this news, he was faithful to his baseball team and Slammers organization. He continued to attend every game as bat boy and to cheer his team on. He was able to participate in In November 2016, the news came, Trevor was in remission. He was finally able cleared to play baseball. The 2017 season started and Trevor was on cloud nine, or should we say, first base. You should have seen the smile on his face when he got his first hit and was safe on first.

An MRI in May 2017, showed that the tumor had grown back. Again, Trevor had to stop playing baseball, but was able to bowl. In fact, Trevor ran his own HopeKids event for other children battling life threatening illnesses to give back to a charity that had given so much to him. In May 2017, he underwent a third brain surgery and began chemo treatment again. An MRI in July, showed that the tumor was not responding to treatment and was growing bigger. Trevor passed away on October 4th, 2017 after finally succumbing to this terrible disease. Trevor will be missed but NEVER FORGOTTEN!!

Slammers is holding a Bowling tournament in 2018 in conjunction with Hopekids of Colorado to help fundraise for the rising costs of the medical treatment for all kids with life threatening diseases. PLEASE HELP US TO CONTINUE TREVOR’S FIGHT BY SPONSORING OR PLAYING IN OUR 1ST ANNUAL TREVOR KLING BOWLING TOURNAMENT!

Overview of Tournament

The Tournament will consist of 27 lanes of 27 teams made up of 4-5 players. Each team will make their own teams. There will also be 7 lanes of HopeKids of Colorado mixed in between our lanes. We are doing this so there is interaction between all the families and kids.

The format will be a tournament style per se. The teams can bowl as many games as they want in the three hours but will most likely bowl 3-4 games. Average total pin count based on the number of bowlers and games will determine the winner. There will be trophies presented to the winning team.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle during the tournament.

The entire amount of the proceeds will go to HopeKids of Colorado on behalf of Trevor Kling. REMEMBER THIS IS A FUNDRAISER FOR A VERY WORTHY CAUSE! To learn more about HopeKids, please visit HopeKids of Colorado.

Bronze Level-$200 per team (minimum amount)
Silver Level-$400 per team
Gold Level-$600 per team
Platinum level-$1000 per team

You do not have to play to donate. All sponsors and those who donate will be listed on our website and in our newsletter, if they chose. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for HopeKids and help an incredibly wonderful group of kids facing the battle of a lifetime!

Each team will get free shoes, bowling, and a gift basket of assorted items. There will be food and drink onsite to purchase. Also, David Kling will be in attendance and would love to meet all of the participants and say, “Thank You” personally.

There is no baseball tournaments to speak of that day, so we are hoping for our families to come out and support the event!!
