Tryouts

Our goal for all teams is to ensure continuity in learning for all participating players, coaches and parents. Tryouts for teams allow the players to showcase their talents in hitting, pitching, fielding (outfield and infield). Teams are then filled based on the outcome of the tryouts. Parents and players are contacted within two weeks of tryouts to notify them about whether or not they made a team and if so, which team they will be playing on. The information below gives a brief overview of the different teams and levels of play available through Slammers.

Due to the success of our Slammers Select and Connie Mack High School Programs we are offering the same high-level program for the younger players. The Slammers Select Youth Program is a Spring & Summer Program which starts training in January, with games beginning in March and ending in July. The workouts will be held at two locations, North and the South location. All the coaches in this Program are hired by Slammers and also trained by our staff.

The goal of this program is to provide each individual, and each team, specific training based on age and each player’s and team’s ability. We will give every player consistent teaching day after day, year after year and coach after coach. Consistency is what matters the most when developing young athletes. This is what we have accomplished in the High School divisions with 95% of our players going on to play in College or Professional Baseball. In the youth program the emphasis will be on playing High School Varsity Baseball.

We field at least one team at each age group ranging from 8 to 14. These teams will be tournament teams that compete in the Majors and AAA division. We plan on playing in 12 tournaments per year with 1 to 3 of these tournaments being out of state tournaments.

The majority of our teams will be filled from this tryout for the 2019 Slammers Youth Select Teams. Do not miss the opportunity to try out for THE BEST Organization in the Region!!
